Adrian An heads home to DDB Group Korea

SEOUL – DDB has appointed Adrian An to head its creative teams in Korea as executive creative director.

An was born in Korea but has since developed a 20-year international career on four continents with experience in campaigns for publishing, food and beverage, consumer electronics and fast-moving consumer good brands.

As well as DDB, An has worked at other leading global agencies including JWT, Y&R, D’arcy and Cheil. He has been recognised at major international award shows including One Show, Cannes, Clio International, Dubai Lynx Awards, the New York Festival, Ad Fest and London International.

An says he couldn’t think of a better time to be returning to his homeland. “I left Korea 30 years ago when I was still a child. This is an exciting time to be in Korea, at an agency that has not yet shown its full potential -- that’s a challenge that I am willing to take on,” he said.

Ted Kim, president and CEO of DDB Group Korea, says the new recruit will be a significant asset in the local market. “Korea is a complicated market with its own advertising style. Adrian’s international experience, as well as his family heritage, makes him best placed to build DDB’s credentials in Korea,” he added.
