By Ben Moore SINGAPORE The Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) is finalising plans to open up a new regional office in Singapore. The predominantly US- and European-based association hopes a new regional facility would help boost efforts to increase its membership in Asia Pacific. ACTE represents the interests of both corporate travel managers and industry suppliers such as hotels and destination management companies. ACTE currently has 80 members within Asia Pacific, mainly in Hong Kong and Singapore. Association officials also confirmed they will target potential members in Australia and Japan this year. Although an opening date has yet to be set, the Singapore office would handle general administration, event planning, direct marketing and liaison with local vendors.
