The service, available only to mobile phone users in the Philippines, allows subscribers to download MMS photos of the network’s celebrities. It mainly targets fans of ABS-CBN’s stars who can’t get enough of their favourite actors and actresses.
ABSi is engaged in selling mobile content (such as infotext, MMS wallpapers, and ringtones) as well as in the online space (websites for ABS-CBN properties, shows, and online gaming)
“Hotshots is also considered as a breakthrough in mobile services for ABSi as it allows subscribers to choose when they want to receive their Hotshots content, either weekly or thrice a week,” noted Demelynn Sunio, project coordinator of Hotshots at ABSi.
“There is also a voting component to the service, similar to the ‘like’ or ‘dislike’ functions in most social networking sites. Subscribers’ votes will be tabulated every month and the results will be posted on ABS-CBN’s official entertainment news site Push.com.ph”, she added.
Celebrities featured in the service include Gerald Anderson, Erich Gonzales, Matteo Guidicelli, Maja Salvador, Jake Cuenca and Megan Young.
