Abplanalp quits Carat for Zenith China chief role
<p>SHANGHAI: Zenith Media has poached Carat regional director Alex </p><p>Abplanalp to head the agency's China operations as managing </p><p>director. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>At the same time, MindShare has appointed Andre Nair chief executive </p><p>officer of its Indian subcontinent operations, a move that comes almost </p><p>a year after he quit as managing director of Starcom Hong Kong and </p><p>China. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Abplanalp - who worked at Zenith for about three years before moving to </p><p>Carat in early 1999 - was part of the key regional management team </p><p>responsible for Carat's expansion across the region over the past three </p><p>years. Earlier this year, he was seconded from Tokyo to lead the </p><p>agency's successful Philips' pitch. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>However, Abplanalp won't start at Zenith until January next year because </p><p>of contractual obligations. Abplanalp will be based in Zenith's Shanghai </p><p>office. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Meanwhile, Nair's job will be to lead MindShare and Maximize operations </p><p>in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bang- ladesh. Nair will be based in </p><p>Mumbai and takes up his new role from next month. </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
