A new platform for StarHub marketers

SINGAPORE - StarHub has launched Singapore's first nationwide location-based mobile advertising service.

The service will give marketers a platform to target consumers in specified pre-set locations and the opportunity to generate immediate sales by pushing promotional SMS messages to the telco’s customers.

“Compared to non-location based advertising, such as direct mailers, location-based advertising is far easier and more effective due to timing and location relevance,” said Germaine Ng Ferguson (pictured), assistant GM of advertising sales for StarHub.

“Consumers are more likely to respond to advertisers’ marketing information or promotional messages, which can translate to heightened brand awareness, better response actions, and even increased market share.”

“Unlike the other location-based advertising service in the market that is specific to certain shopping malls only, StarHub’s location-based advertising service definitely provides superior coverage,” she added.

WTS Travel & Tours, has signed on to be the first advertiser on the new service.
