4As plans revival as body turns 50

HONG KONG - The HK4As has kicked off its 50th anniversary year with a new logo, as the organisation plans a series of activities aimed at bringing the dynamism back to the city's advertising industry.

Thirty-three designs for the new logo were judged by 4As agencies, with BatesAsia's attempt eventually winning.

The body is hoping the new logo is a signal of a more "dynamic and out-reaching new era" said 4As chairman Royce Yuen.

"We're committed to uplifting our creative work by benchmarking international standards, and looking to position advertising as a driving force for creative industries in Hong Kong," he added,

Other initiatives for 2007 include improving public understanding of the industry, and attracting new blood - through a series of promotional events in shopping malls, public seminars, book launches and schools.
