3 launches mobile music programme

HONG KONG - Mobile music company Omnifone has tied up with Hutchison Telecomm-unications to debut a new music download service called MusicStation in Hong Kong, ahead of a full regional rollout.

MusicStation offers 3 Hong Kong’s mobile subscribers a catalogue of music from Universal, Sony BMG, EMI and Warner, as well as local record companies including Gold Label, Amusic and East Asia Music. The library of 150,000 songs is scheduled to expand to one million songs.

The campaign includes TV and out-of-home, around the tagline ‘Music is for everyone.’ Bravo Asia handled creative, with PHD in charge of media. PHD managing director Ray Wong said the new service was different from rival PCCW’s Moove, as it offers downloadable rather than streaming content.
