10 MNC brands fail China CSR test

BEIJING - A committee organised by the Chinese media has revealed that 10 multinational corporations fail a series of tests designed to assess their CSR performance.

According to the report, the ten companies are Sanyo, Michelin, P&G, Carlsberg, Starbucks, LG, Federal Express, Honda, Lucent and Jinmailang. According to ChinaCSR.com, the committee used an evaluation system to rank MNCs according to six criteria: illegal employment and infringing employees' legal rights and interests; product quality; illegal management; lack of honesty; safety or environmental accidents; and bad influence.
