Women to Watch 2017 deadline extended

The deadline for nominations for our annual list of Asia-Pacific's brightest and most promising female talent has been extended to next Friday, 7 July.

“Irrepressible drive.” “Unwavering dedication.” “A game-changer.” These were the kind of tributes paid by colleagues and friends to the 40 candidates who made Campaign Asia-Pacific’s esteemed Women to Watch list last year. Their combined achievements make a spectacular success story for the media and marketing world: these are women who have carved out a name for themselves by building leading companies from scratch, doubling business volumes, spearheading visionary new projects and, most importantly of all, championing change across the industry.

Now, we want to hear more. Campaign is delighted to announce that nominations are officially open for our 2017 Women to Watch list—supported once more by TBWA—and we expect to feel no less impressed than last year at the sheer scale of ambition and talent out there.

"Being nominated for the Women to Watch in 2016 was more than a honour,” says Christine Lau, chief operating officer at the digital marketing firm Pixels, who made last year’s list after overseeing the launch of her company’s programmatic advertising solution, to wide acclaim. “I've gained a whole new level of respect from business counterparts, colleagues, families and friends who saw me, in the past, as just another woman executive in the advertising field, but I’m now being compared to other amazing women who work in Fortune 500 companies and are also recognized as Women to Watch."

Another of last year's nominees, Haruyo Kagawa, who is Japan country manager at video sharing platform Unruly, says the list is providing a boon for Asia-Pacific's career women. "In a region where we still see big gaps in terms of diversity, Campaign's annual Women to Watch list is a welcome celebration of the amazing work women are doing to change things from within the industry. I believe that young women entering the workplace need role models they can relate to - as the maxim goes 'you need to see it to be it'. As such it was a huge honour to be included on last year's list, and I very much hope that we will start to see talented young women entering the industry who have been inspired by lists such as this one."

Who can I nominate? 

Up to two names from your company or regional network. 

What are the rules for entry? 

There are no restrictions as to discipline, and no minimum or maximum age limit for the candidate. But we are not looking for women who are at the top of their careers. We are looking for women who have achieved a lot—but have the potential to go much further. They will have proven success in the past 12 months and have demonstrated an ability to apply creativity to every aspect of the business.
