Waggener Edstrom hires digital lead for WE Studio D Asia

SINGAPORE - Waggener Edstrom's (WE) WE Studio D Asia has appointed former Text 100 Carolyn Camoens as digital strategies lead.

The appointment marks the second major hire for WE Studio D Asia in the region in five months. The other digital strategies lead, Taura Edgar, was appointed last September and is based in Hong Kong.

Also a Mediacorp Radio host and ex-lawyer, Camoens was previously account director at Text 100 where she worked on the Lenovo Group, Cisco, Nokia and Philips Consumer Lifestyle accounts.

Camoens will report to Melvin Yuan, WE Studio D lead for Asia-Pacific.

Since its inception in 2008, WE Studio D Asia has created two social media tools including twendz and twendz pro. twendz pro, launched in November last year, and is a paid service measuring brand impact and engaging audiences on Twitter. twendz, a complimentary real-time Twitter monitoring tool, was launched in March 2009.

Camoens declined to say which clients are using either tool.

WE Singapore counts Microsoft, Fujitsu Asia, EMC, BMC Software, Rolls-Royce, and FOX International Channels (including National Geographic Channel and Star) among its clients.
