James Bond, Paul Smith, Anya Hindmarch, Mulberry, Michael Young and more join forces to showcase UK's creative week in Hong Kong

HONG KONG - British Consulate Hong Kong kickstarts a ‘Great week of creativity’ in Hong Kong starting from 5 November, a week-long series of events featuring up to 350 exhibitors and 60 guest speakers across 50 events, including fashion shows, gala ceremonies, product launches, exhibitions and networking events.

The UK creativity week is apartnership between business and the British Consulate-General team in Hong Kong, and is backed by major UK brands and organisations including UK Trade & Investment, the Foreign Office, the British Fashion Council, London Design Festival, Walpole and commercial partners like Jaguar, Mulberry, Anya Hindmarch and Dunhill.

The weeklong event will feature iconic British brands and companies and design and cultural icons, including Jaguar, Dunhill, Mulberry, Paul Smith, Harvey Nichols,  Anya Hindmarch, Michael Young, James Bond, British Fashion Council, and many more.

Weber Shandwick is the PR partner for this event project. The organizer boosts that It will involve the largest trade delegation (the size of the delegation is currently at 53 companies) from the UK to Hong Kong since the handover in 1997 - a clear indicator of the importance of bilateral trade between these two markets.

British heritage brands have found strong success in Hong Kong and mainland China, and this is set to continue in the future.

According to the Global Shopper Index, Hong Kong was also recently judged the number one shopping destination in Asia.

Similarly, Hong Kong has emerged as the top shopping destination in Asia-Pacific, scoring 68.5 out of 100, according to a survey by Global Blue, a Switzerland-based travel shopping company.

The size of Hong Kong's luxury goods market is projected to grow 475 per cent, compared to worldwide growth of 130 per cent. 

China is projected to see even stronger growth of 722 per cent, and account for 19 per cent of worldwide luxury goods sales by 2020, compared to 5 per cenrt in 2010. 

“The Great Week of Creativity' provides the perfect opportunity to welcome the very best of the British creative sector to Hong Kong showcasing British fashion, luxury, design and craftsmanship," Caroline Wilson, British Consul-General commented, “we seek to not only highlight UK brands with a passion for innovation but also introduce dynamic emerging companies to this immensely important market.”

Brilliant Britain Exhibition
Exhibitor: Mulberry

Venue: Mulberry flagship store, Harbour City
An exclusive Brilliant Britain exhibition celebrating craft and creativity is launching at the Mulberry Harbour City store for two weeks. Inside, work by British craftsmen and women is showcased alongside a behind-the-scenes look at how their products are created.
