Honda wants you to chase meteors to realise your dreams

From Australia: ‘Chase It’ for Honda Australia by Leo Burnett Melbourne.

The ad involves an impressive escalation of situations, beginning with a reporter at a small-time dog show (Ad Nut pauses to question why there are no squirrel shows?) to the spotting of a single meteor that then turns into a whole meteor shower, ending finally back at the news studio after the big-dreamer reporter climbs fearlessly into a still-on-fire crater.  

Ad Nut likes the concept of chasing your dreams being realised through literally chasing a meteor falling from space, because that’s about as big a dream as anyone could have. Also Ad Nut enjoys the backing soundtrack of the '70s hit ‘Dreamer’, which adds light humour and an uplifting touch to the spot, emphasising the campaign’s differences to the equally dramatic but overdone car chases seen in some other car advertisements.

Ad Nut finds the campaign might just ignite the determination and the dreamer in all of us, if only there were a few more meteors to chase flying around. It might even sell a few Civics.
