Cantopop and Cantonese opera mesh surprisingly well in this 'live jam' for Samsung

Hong Kong band Dear Jane and Cantonese opera performer Christie To Wing-sum took part in a remote jam facilitated and shot on Samsung 5G phones for this video by DDB Hong Kong.

DDB Group Hong Kong brought together local band Dear Jane and Cantonese opera perfomer Christie To Wing-sum for "5G live co-stage jamming session" to promote Samsung's 5G-capable Galaxy S20 phones.

A release says the "stunning, seamless performance" was possible thanks to the network speed, camera quality and sheer processing power of the brand's 5G flagship model. In addition, 15 Galaxy S20s captured all the video you see above. A spokesperson for the agency clarified that the jam was filmed live in one take, although it was not streamed live at the time.

Ad Nut is an enormous fan of neither Cantopop nor Cantonese opera, but the two blend into a surprisingly enjoyable concoction here.
