McCann Taiwan takes first place at 2013 LongXi NOVA grand finals

The 2013 LongXi NOVA grand finals was held at the Shanghai International Studies University in Shanghai in March. Tracy Jheng and Ethan Chan from McCann Taiwan took the first place, while the Saatchi & Saatchi HK team of Kenneth Foo and Adeline Siow came in second in the 17-team competition. These two teams will be sent on a study tour of international advertising festivals with HdtMedia covering the costs.

The third, fourth and fifth places went to Yilun Liu and Yuwen Tang of E-link Guangzhou; Freddie Du and Mary Tso of Wu’s Advertising Taiwan; and Mio Pang and Kai Fung Chan from DraftFCB Hong Kong (before it closed down). The competition is divided into six sub-regions including Hong Kong, Taiwan, East China (Shanghai), South China (Guangzhou), North China (Beijing) and Southwest China (Chongqing), and is only open to entrants who are 30 years old or below. This year's ‘cross-branding’ brief saw two brands assigned to each team: MTee, Okamoto, Dulux and Ovaltine.

The panel of judges included Amber Liu (jury president) from Amber Communications; Miranda Shing from The Right Side; John Yang from Bremen Digital Taiwan; Hwee Chong Chan from Grey Beijing; Liu Yiping from Z+; Professor Tang Le from Fudan University; Kevin Wang from VML im2.0; Aaron Zhang from Arkr Group; Albert Lin (creative consultant); and Professor Gu Mingyi from Shanghai International Studies University.
