Zespri International picks DDB Korea for creative and media in Korea

SEOUL - DDB Korea has scooped both the creative and media business for Zespri International in Korea after a pitch against TBWA and Mate Communications.

The agency will be responsible for all marketing communications, including through-the-line advertising, digital, and media planning and buying. The first campaign will launch in May 2010.

TBWA Korea has been handling the account for the past three years.

According to Zespri’s annual report of 2008-09, South Korea has generated the second-highest sales revenue in Asia apart from Japan. DDB also suggested that Korea has the second-biggest market for Zespri Gold and eighth-largest for Zespri Green product line.

Yesterday, Henkel Home Care Korea announced it had appointed OMK Korea, the media arm of DDB Group Korea, as the agency-of-record to handle media planning and buying for all consumer products.
