VivaKi China launches AdSelector through Tudou

SHANGHAI – China’s leading online video site Tudou has partnered with VivaKi to launch an online video advertising format AdSelector for the Chinese market.

VivaKi China launches AdSelector through Tudou

AdSelector allows users to select their preferred video advertising before watching a programme. Tudou is the first online media company that has joined the live testing of AdSelector.

As pre-roll advertising has become the standard video ad format globally, Tudou further works with VivaKi to enhance the experience and give users more choices.

Gary Wang, founder and CEO of Tudou, said, “We believe a pleasant branding experience involves deeper user engagement. We believe our younger audience like to feel that they are more in control, and in fact they are.”

Brands such as GE, Lancome, General Mills, Dettol and Veet have already signed up for the release of AdSelector on Tudou. All data will be collected and analysed to determine Chinese users' feedback on the new ad format.

Hulu, Yahoo and MSNBC have already tested AdSelector in the US market where the new ad format received a 106 per cent higher click-through rate and a 290 per cent higher ad-recall than pre-roll ads.
