Here is how brands in telecom and digital services engaged their digital communities in the past week, from talking about cricket to asking fans to talk with their mouths full.

1. Idea India
Engagement Score - 1,000

In a country obsessed with cricket, even mentioning the sport when there is no match on will garner high engagement. The ‘blast from the past’ photo that Idea mobile posted got a whopping 212,000 likes. This was the most engaging and most liked post in the industry in Asia.

The future is here, or at least that’s what Qualcomm’s post makes us think. With intriguing text and a link, it’s no surprise that this post received over 15,000 likes.

3. Uninor India
Engagement Score – 1,000

Winning free goodies and a top-notch cell phone is a great tactic to persuade fans to participate in a brand’s campaign. To make the already exciting contest more relatable, Uninor challenged fans to share a video saying the campaign name with their mouth full. This got over 44,000 likes and 1,100 comments. (The post has since been removed.)

4. Tune Talk Malaysia
Engagement Score – 980

Holiday greetings are a big engagement magnet on social media. Tune Talk made this simple greeting for Malaysia day, and received over 150 retweets and 40 favorites.

5. Maxis Malaysia
Engagement Score – 939

Maxis Malaysia excited fans by talking about the new One Plus phone. The image on Instagram received over 40 favorites.
