ASIA-PACIFIC - The Times of India will be named Advertiser of the Year at the Spikes Asia Festival, marking the launch of a new award at the event.

The Times of India bags Spikes Advertiser of the Year Award
The Advertiser of the Year trophy will be presented to advertisers who have distinguished themselves for inspiring innovative marketing, who embrace and encourage the creative work produced by their agencies, or who lead the way with new communication initiatives.

The Times of India has been awarded the inaugural trophy in honour of its ‘Lead India’ campaign, which was awarded the Direct Lions Grand Prix at Cannes Lions 2008.

Commenting on the award, Terry Savage, Spikes Asia festival chairman, said: “Year-on-year, we continue to see The Times of India pushing the boundaries. This is a brand that is not afraid to step beyond the line by encouraging creative thought and passion in its marketing and advertising campaigns and who in doing so gives a powerful resonance to their product.”

He added: “This is an attribute that should be valued within the industry and why the Festival believes The Times of India should be honoured with such an accolade.”

The relaunched Spikes Asia Festival, jointly organised by Haymarket Media, publisher of Media, is taking place from 16 to 18 September. More details can be found at www.spikes.asia.
