He was formerly executive director, strategic solutions, Starcom Singapore.

In this new role, Mahtani is charged with strengthening SMG’s strategy and product offerings. He takes over from Ranganathan Somanathan, who was promoted to CEO Malaysia in July.

Mahtani will also be involved in new business, data mining and articulating consumer insights to empower brand strategies for potential SMG clients in this region.

He will report to Jeffrey Seah, CEO, Starcom MediaVest Group, Southeast Asia, who said: “Bringing with him 13 years of diverse experience in the industry, Rajesh, who has been a fundamental pillar to the management team at Starcom Singapore, emerged as a natural choice to take over for Ranga.”

“With an innate ability to distil the complex into the actionable, Rajesh represents a new breed of liquid talent that is crucial to the future of our industry,” added Seah.
