Michael Rebelo, CEO of Publicis Communications ANZ since 2017, is stepping up to the ANZ CEO role for Publicis Groupe.

The role is a newly created one, according to the company, and will focus on driving greater integration across the group, cultivating and attracting the best talent and improving resource management across disciplines and solutions. Rebelo will be supported by solution hub leadership, John Preston, chairman of Publicis Media, and Sarah Adam-Gedge, managing director at Publicis.Sapient.

Rebelo started his career at Saatchi & Saatchi Sydney in 1997 and has held various roles in Vietnam, New Zealand, Singapore, London and Australia across the Saatchi & Saatchi network.

In other Publicis news out of Australia today, Publicis Media is moving its ANZ boss, Matt James, to London to be global brand president of Zenith.

Loris Nold, Publicis Groupe CEO for Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, said Rebelo, Preston and Adam-Gedge are the right team to accelerate the company's Power of One strategy across ANZ.

“Our strategy relies on two very important pillars: a solution-led approach and a country-led approach," he said in a release. "This is to ensure that we accelerate on our global game changers while driving acceleration at a country level."
