Peter Horgan takes charge as sole CEO at OMD Australia

AUSTRALIA – Peter Horgan has been elevated to chief executive officer at OMD Australia effective immediately, following the departure of joint managing director Leigh Terry to assume the post of CEO at OMG ANZ.

In this role, he will be responsible for all OMD assets covering four offices and 340 personnel nationally.

Horgan joined OMD in 2003 as executive director of trading where he led the largest specialist trading department in Australia. Two years later, he was appointed lead negotiator for Opera where covered all Omnicom assets in Australia.

In 2006, Horgan moved on to become managing partner and eventually to managing director of OMD Australia with Terry in 2009.

“Having worked closely with Peter for four years, he has displayed a terrific understanding of what drives a strong agency business,” commented Barry Cupples, CEO of Omnicom Media Group Asia-Pacific. 

Horgan also sits on the executive committee of the Media Federation of Australia and is the industry’s media representative on the board of the Communications Council.
