Paul Dickinson, director of sales and marketing at Virgin Atlantic, said the consolidation aimed to develop better brand consistency around the globe.
Meanwhile, the airline has also consolidated its global advertising account into Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R and its global direct marketing work into GyroHSR. The agency already handles the airline's advertising account in the UK and across the majority of mainland Europe, but will now work on the company's communications across the globe.
The appointment means that Virgin Atlantic has ended its relationship with McKinney, an independent agency based in North Carolina that had worked on the company's US advertising account for the last two years.
Both OMD and RKCR/Y&R worked on the airline's brand campaign at the start of the year, which celebrated its 25 years in aviation.
