Ad Nut understands what it's like to only have a few walnuts to play with. As such Ad Nut approves of New Zealand's collaboration with Samsung to produce a VR experience of New Zealand's wineries on a "shoestring" marketing budget.
The footage was shown to buyers at Food Hotel Asia 2016, a large F&B tradeshow. New Zealand plans to extend the experience to buyers across Southeast Asia, Korea and Japan at its Food Connection events. The footage will also be available to consumers in Samsung Experience Stores across Singapore from May 2016.
Speaking of shoestring budgets, Ad Nut would like to see the outcome of this work but doesn't have VR headset. Any donations will be gratefully accepted.
Time for some quotes:
Lauren Bartlett, regional marketing manager for New Zealand Trade in Asia:
New Zealand is known for its innovation in technology, but also for its extremely high quality food and beverage. We wanted to be able to transport our buyers to see where the produce is from, and the partnership with Samsung has allowed us to do exactly that. We were able to create a magical experience on a shoestring budget.
Yvonne Chng, head of consumer marketing, IT & Mobile Business, Samsung Electronics Singapore:
Working with the New Zealand government has given us access to great content that we can bring to our consumers. This collaboration is a great example of how we are bringing the endless possibilities of virtual reality to life for consumers and elevating their mobile experience.
