M&C bought Clear, which has offices in London, Amsterdam and New York, this year. Jaques takes the M&C role almost a year after resigning his position as Y&R North America CEO. He succeeds Kim Walker, who spent three years at M&C, an agency that has struggled since losing its anchor British Airways client.
“It’s in profit, but needs a lot of work,” said Jaques, who takes a minority double-digit stake in the agency. While some offices - India, Hong Kong and Malaysia - have had strong years, others, most notably Thailand and Singapore, have struggled.
