Igoo scoops Zhuhai airport brand brief
The Airport Authority has confirmed its selection of Igoo Communications to handle the rebranding of China's Zhuhai Airport, which the entity will manage under a joint-venture deal.
The appointment follows a three-way pitch that kicked off in November 2005 after the authority announced that it had sealed a management joint-venture to operate Zhuhai Airport in late 2006.
Igoo has been asked to provide strategic input to develop a corporate image for the new management group as well as rebranding and market positioning for Zhuhai Airport in the Pearl River Delta (PRD) region.
"As the competition among the five PRD airports is getting tough, our strategic direction is to position Zhuhai Airport in line with the city's development — a garden city with increasing resorts and vacation spots," said Igoo CEO Ben Lui.
