The competition is backed by Dentsu. Themed ‘responsibility’, the competition will be launched in Japan by Dentsu and in Indonesia by the IAA Accredited Institutes. Students at the Institutes or with a major in marketing and communication are encouraged to participate and the event is expecting entries from around seventeen countries.
The project is looking for a universally recognisable logo and a tagline to present the environmental issue.
The global winner will receive a trophy and will be asked to present their work in a major global location. A shortlist of regional winners will proceed to the global judging stage, with all awarded works showcased in posters, postcards, books and calendars, along with exhibitions around the world.
"I think at the heart of this IAA initiative, we feel an international student that conceived and created the climate change message could have a remarkable effect on public opinion, explained IAA executive director Michael Lee.
The campaign launch coincides with the G8 Hokkaido Toyako Summit in Japan today.
