Grey restructures team to reflect P&G's overhaul

SINGAPORE - Grey Group has restructured its Asia-Pacific team to reflect its client Procter & Gamble's (P&G) overhaul of its Asia-Pacific structure (Media, 30 October).

P&G is currently centralising its operations into a single entity for the entire region.

Fernando Beretta (pictured), the current head of P&G business for Grey in Greater China will now head the agency’s P&G business for Asia-Pacific. He will continue to be based in Hong Kong after two years in the market. Prior to this, he was the VP in charge of strategy and communications for P&G at Grey in Latin America.

The restructuring will also see Tom Evans, the head of P&G business for Asean, Australia and India (AAI) and for GSK moving to work full-time on GSK’s Asia-Pacific business.

Yash Samat will head Grey’s Pantene business in Asia-Pacific and will report directly to Beretta. Samat headed Pantene in AAI for several years until 2006 at Grey Group, after which she moved to Grey London to head up strategic business development across P&G's Central Europe/Middle East region. She returned to Asia earlier this year and will be based in Mumbai.

Business directors Leon Dorai and Susanna Lee will jointly handle the Pringles business for the region. Reporting to Beretta, Dorai will lead developed markets while Lee will continue to lead developing markets for Pringles.

Mike Amour, regional CEO of Grey Advertising, confirmed the news and said that the changes are in line with the structural changes made by P&G.

“Ultimately the primary purpose of this evolutionary exercise is to be closer to consumers and to develop communications to address regional and local consumers better. At Grey these changes will allow us to work with our clients in a more exciting way and develop communications that are more holistic.”
