Golin Hong Kong has hired Ema Linaker as digital executive director.

Linaker will lead the team’s digital agenda, bringing experience in web and mobile app delivery, digital UX mapping, paid media planning, program management and digital platform planning.

She arrives from Edelman, where she was most recently in charge of the agency’s Middle East digital marketing and communications practice. Prior to this, she founded Social@Ogilvy in the Middle East, building it into a regional practice across eight countries. Linaker began her career at Google.

“Clients need a trusted pair of hands to help them navigate the needs of digitally empowered stakeholders and the demands of new business models,” Linaker said. “Golin will be that trusted partner.”

Linaker reports to Jane Morgan, Golin Hong Kong managing director, who said: “Ema’s expertise and drive are set to take our digital offer in Hong Kong and elsewhere in Asia to another level.”

The appointment comes shortly after Golin hired new B2C executive director Stephen Millikin and B2B executive director Ben Evetts. Morgan adds that these “significant” changes are “by design” to bring in new “experience, perspectives and smarts”.
