General Mills Hong Kong picks Starcom for full portfolio

HONG KONG - Global food brands marketer General Mills has put Starcom in charge of its media business in Hong Kong., without a pitch.

Both client and Starcom have confirmed the win which ousts incumbent agancy OMD. Starcom is tasked with overseeing the entire General Mills portfolio.

According to General Mills the decision was the result of their existing relationship with the agency in China. Starcom was appointed as their media agency in China back in 2004.

The major brands under General Mills in Hong Kong include Häagen-Dazs and Wanchai Ferry. Other imported brands under the umbrella are Nature Valley and Betty Crocker. General Mills has recorded an ad spend of US$5 million in 2009, according to admanGo.
