Sony Ericsson Nypon LT22i leaked

Sony Ericsson’s Nypon LT22i is pure Sony right down the to dual-core processor, sort of. Its latest smartphone, the Nypon, is going to have a NovaThor U8500 chipset – which means Sony’s very own remix of 1GHz Cortex A9 processors.

The other specs on this Ice Cream Sandwich toting handset include a qHD display and – like the iPhone 4S – 512MB RAM. Not as impressive as the rumoured LT26i Nozomi’s 720x1280px screen, but at least we know this one is real. Read more...

Lenovo IdeaTab has Samsung Galaxy Note firmly in its sights

Oversized smartphones-cum-miniature tablets will be latest mobile phone bandwagon, if this batch of leaked spy shots of Lenovo's 5in IdeaTab are anything to go on.

Intrepid web explorers Engadget spotted the shots, which suggest Lenovo is convinced there's a market for these hybrid devices. Following in the footsteps of the Samsung Galaxy Note, Lenovo could be on the verge of releasing its very own super-sized (or mini, depending on how you look at it) dual-core Android device. Samsung is gearing up to launch its first Google TV set next year, though sadly not quite in time for CES 2012, according to Reuters. Google TV is currently only available in the US, and Sony makes TVs with the service built in, while Logitech makes compatible set top boxes.

The president of Samsung's TV division, Yoon Boo-keun, says that Samsung's Google TV offering will differ from competitors' products, though in what way we're not told.

Apple iPad 3 and iPhone 5 to be larger

Apple is taking a different tack from its rivals, moving away from creating slimmer and slimmer gadgets – it's planning to release a thicker iPad 3 with better specs and an iPhone 5 with a bigger screen.

Apple has decided to add a super bright 2048x1536px Retina Display in the iPad 3, lit with dual LED-light bars, at a cost of an extra 0.7mm added to the body. The iPhone 5 is also set for a size boost, jumping up 8mm in length to house a rumoured 4in screen. Read more...
