Lenovo, maker of the fine X1 we saw in May, is gearing up something a bit more fashionable than its sturdy matt black workhorse. Yes, the Chinese computer company that used to be called IBM is doing away with keyboards (and its famous red nipples) and breaking out a few tablets.

Remember those “ergonomically designed” keyboards that split the keys into two distinct groups? LG does, and now it wants to bring them back in thumbable QWERTY form. Pocket-lint has been fondling this mobile oddity and while there aren’t many details – not even a name – we quite like the idea of a split keyboard separated by a secondary touchscreen.

Panasonic Lumix GF3 is world’s smallest
Panasonic has revealed the Lumix GF3, just six months after the retro-looking DMC-GF2 release – and this one’s far from retro as the world’s smallest Micro Four Thirds snapper (it's a little taller than the Sony NEX-C3, but thinner and shorter). Now that’s progress. Add a 12.1MP sensor, Venus FHD processor and a huge 16 per cent reduction in size and you have a killer snapper that even manages 1080i HD video at 25fps.

Ever since its release, Microsoft’s Kinect has been a veritable Swiss army knife for tech-tinkerers and unusual mods and the latest demonstration shows its possible future uses as a virtual shopping assistant. The software (developed by Razorfish), allows you to browse through virtual clothes and accessories before adorning yourself with the digital garments of your choosing. Incorrect sizes, dodgy zippers and changing room queues could all be destroyed in one merciful swoop, although no amount of virtual tweaking will ever manage to squeeze us back in to those dusty bell-bottoms.
