DPCA selected the agency in a three-month, five-way pitch that included the incumbent Midas, Zenith, Carat and Guangdong Advertising.
OMD partnered with DPCA on both the Peugeot and Citroën brands for four years until February 2012 when Midas took over. The account is now worth US$165 million (RMB1 billion) in billings, according to OMD.
“There is no better new business win than getting back a key account that decides to return home, where it belongs," said OMG Greater China CEO Doug Pearce. "Our appointment is testament to the value we can bring and a recognition of our past performance."
