Vizeum China picked up Chinese group buying company Lashou.com's media planning and buying account after a pitch in April. OMD China handled the media account for a mere three months after being appointed in February.

Nokia announced it is reviewing its global advertising arrangement, with incumbent Wieden & Kennedy now on high alert. It has issued a global RFI to networks regarding its advertising for its smart phone business inviting agencies to compete for the business, which covers above-the-line, digital and retail advertising.

BBDO Proximity Singapore appointed Lian-Shi Ho as head of digital. She will be responsible for the delivery of digital projects for the agency's local and international clients, management of the Proximity brand, while continuing to build the digital capabilities and teams.

MPG launched mobile marketing arm Mobext in Asia with its first launch in India. Currently present in eight markets globally, Mobext will offer messaging services, mobile internet services and proximity-based services.

MRM Singapore appointed Nic Brennan as executive creative director for its Singapore office. He replaces Erik Ingvoldstad, who left the agency late last year to return to his native Norway.

G2 Direct Interactive Malaysia named Chang Chew Soon, Jennifer Chem and Tang Wai Hoong as technical director, business unit head and digital creative group head respectively. The agency noted digital demands are increasing at an accelerated pace, hence the move to strengthen the current team to remain competitive in the market. 

Media Contacts and Trapper MPG have been selected by the Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) as digital AOR for the Iskandar Malaysia brand. The agencies will be responsible for strategic planning, digital media planning and buying, as well as search engine marketing.

600 senior marketers attended the fourth Tencent MIND Conference 2011 which took place in Beijing and concluded on 28 April. Markets from China and overseas were invited to share their viewpoints on online marketing trends and practices in China and worldwide under the theme of 'Listen well, innovate well.'

Isobar promoted Dwayne Serjeant to regional practice leader in user experience, appointed Mike Chang as technology solution architect for Asia-Pacific, and brought Jane Lin-Baden back to the network as the region's CRM practice leader. The appointments are in line with accelerating the agency's global strategy in Asia.

Ad:tech Singapore retained Blugrapes as its official Facebook solutions partner for the second consecutive year. Blugrapes is in charge of developing and deploying Facebook marketing solutions to market Ad:tech Singapore 2011, Asia's largest digital marketing event, to marketers.

Xpand Group was appointed to recruit a team of 20 to lead efforts in the digital and social media space to enhance the Lenovo brand worldwide. The pioneer team will collectively develop digital and social media competencies and is targeted to be fully staffed before the end of 2011.

Branded appointed Fulford to handle PR duties for its Digital Matters and Music Matters B2B events, along with Music Matters LIVE with HP music festival. This marks the first time that Music Matters and Digital Matters will be held in Singapore.

Procter & Gamble appointed Ilonka Laviz, associate director for its feminine care brand Always, to its top global digital marketing role. She steps into the role replacing Lucas Watson as marketing director, digital brand-building strategy and global e-commerce.

Mediabrands appointed Daniel Simon to COO of Asia at both UM and Initiative. In his new role, he will be responsible for maintaining each company's independence, driving operational synergies as well as managing day-to-day challenges.

MRM Singapore appointed new digital account directors Aishah Haroon, Jorida Ong and Charlene Leung to its Singapore team. Collectively, they have worked with clients and agencies including XM, Blue, Nokia, Tribal DDB and OgilvyOne.
