DIARY: Stories we could tell ... No sex please, we're from Hong Kong

Newly-married couples, cast away on a tropical hideaway, happily

facing up to the challenges which newly-married couples cast away on a

tropical hideaway routinely face.

If that conjures up images of lust under the palm trees a la Temptation

Island, hold that naughty thought. Before your imagination gets the

better of you, it's Diary's duty to inform you that this reality series

has been produced by none other than Hong Kong's very own TVB.

About the only thing wild about it is apparently the title - Wild

Castaway - and the wild life on Queensland, where the show was filmed.

If Temptation Island was "the show that shocked America", Wild Castaway

will be the show to watch with the kids, with its wild life lessons and

survival challenges, culminating in a wedding banquet.

In other words, it's shorthand for: "No sex please, we're Hong Kong."

Not a big surprise really. If condom manufacturer Durex is spot on with

the findings of its sex survey, shagging is way down on Hong Kong's

to-do list. Doesn't bode well for Wild Castaway especially since Star

World will be launching "the show that shocked America" - with four

couples on an island overrun with 32 hot singles. Still, why does Diary

feel that the only thing that will sizzle this month are the ratings.
