What's the best part of your job?

DIARY: On the spot - Quinn Taw, Managing director, MindShare Beijing

Working in China: working with incredibly intelligent people, the amount of opportunity, unimaginable change and feeling like what we are doing now will truly influence the development of our industry.

And the worst?

Working in China: although the highs are very high, the lows can be extremely low.

Your all-time favourite film and why?

Pulp Fiction - great dialogue, fabulous story-telling, stylish violence, pop philosophy and an explanation about why McDonald's does not sell the Quarter-Pounder in France.

Favourite book or CD?

White Noise by Don DeLillo.

Favourite print title?

Maxim (US version). Has all the best of a British men's mag: beer, boobs, sports, cars and jokes; except the beer is cold, the boobs perkier, no rugby, steering wheels on the proper side and far fewer puns.

Favourite restaurant?

Anything new.

Do you have a favourite gadget?

Take your pick.

Favourite fashion designer?

No. Difficult to make fat guys look good.

Weirdest thing in your closet?

A large collection of novelty ties.

What are your hobbies?

Martial arts, brewing beer and travel.

Favourite holiday destination?

Thailand - accessible, beautiful and stress-free.

Who would you want to play you in a movie?

Prefer the movie is animated.

How would you title your movie?

Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Middle Kingdom.

If you were a brand, what would it be?

Hamlet Cigars.

All-time favourite ad?

Nike: 'Bo knows ...'
