What's the best part of your job?

DIARY: On the spot - Peter Steyn, director of sales and marketing,
Nielsen//NetRatings Hong Kong

Monitoring the popularity of websites around the world and trying to figure out why ecommerce is not a lot more successful in Asia.

And the worst?

Witnessing how some of the greatest websites disappear off the radar screen.

Your all-time favourite film and why?

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. Where are the good old days of snuggling up in the back of a Volkswagen Beatle at a drive-in theatre watching the good and bad guys deciding who will die an ugly death.

Favourite book or CD?

No Parlez (Paul Young). Great piece of work, in particular the last track.

Favourite restaurant and dish?

Any of the restaurants at the Hakodate fish market with their abundance of fresh sashimi and monster crabs, and a bottle of sake.

Do you have a favourite gadget?

My Nikon camera and Gateway PC, and the all-amazing Photoshop 7.

Favourite fashion designer?

John Varvatos.

What are your hobbies?

Scuba diving and macro photography.

Where did you go on your holiday?

Just returned from the Southwest coast of Africa to photograph the penguin colonies and Cape Gannets.

Who would you want to play you in a movie?

Captain James Cook.

How would you title your movie?

Around the world in 612 months.

Please finish this line, I wish I could...understand why the air pollution in Hong Kong is only blamed on the direction of the wind.
