DIARY: Christmas present delivered early for NatGeo exec

Has Ward Platt been naughty or nice this year?

DIARY: Christmas present delivered early for NatGeo exec

The National Geographic managing director did after all get his Christmas present a whole month before this month's frenzy of gift giving.

And the question of whether Platt's been naughty or nice this year has probably been replaced by: is he exhausted yet with the arrival of new bundle of joy Audrey Charlotte Tao. Weighing in at 8lbs two ounces, Audrey kept mom Angela Lu, ex Star TV, up for more than 24 hours before making her debut at the end of last month.

That's only the start of things before the midnight feedings, the teething pains and the terrible twos hit.

Exhaustion aside, the first-time parents are of course ecstatic over their latest creation - an interesting Scorpion cum horse combination.

Going by the Chinese almanac, Angela should be a calm and thoughtful baby who appreciates tranquility as well as comfort and material security.

But beware the later years - when an amorous but stormy youth is predicted before a harmonious and stable union is forged.

Meanwhile, Diary can't quite decide whether the newcomer takes after mom or dad since all newborns tend to look like the wizened Yoda of Star Wars.
