INDIA - Mcgarrybowen, part of the Dentsu Aegis Network, has announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire Happy Creative Services in India.

With this acquisition, which is set to be complete in the 'next few weeks', Happy will be rebranded as Happy Mcgarrybowen. This will be Mcgarrybowen's first agency in India. Other offices in Asia Pacific are Singapore, Hong Kong and China.

Happy was established in 2007. Its co-founders Kartik Iyer (CEO) and Praveen Das (MD) will be joining Dentsu Aegis' leadership team. The duo will report to Ashish Bhasin, chairman and CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network South Asia.

Gordon Bowen, founder and global chairman of Mcgarrybowen, said India is an important creative market and represents untapped potential for mcgarrybowen. "Like us, Kartik and Praveen believe in the power of big organising ideas, collaboration and strong client partnerships," he said. "Together I am confident we will fuel even greater creative and business success for clients here in India and around the world."

Through a joint statement, Iyer and Das said being a part of Dentsu Aegis and Mcgarrybowen supports their growth ambition and will allow the agency to support "marquee clients that require the support of a global network".
