CNN harnesses real-time World Cup buzz on Twitter

Exclusive to CNN.com, South Africa 2010: Twitter Buzz provides online users with a way to view and participate in online conversations surrounding the World Cup in real time.

Topics generating the most buzz are represented visually through photos, the more a topic is discussed the larger its related image. Users can filter across categories including players, teams and topics and scroll back through tweets from matches over the past 24 hours.

In the interactive visualisation, users can roll over the image to see how many tweets per minute the topic is generating. Additionally, by clicking on the image, users will see the five most recent related tweets and sign-in to their Twitter account to retweet or share a comment related to that part of the conversation.

Twitter Buzz also features the latest tweets from the teams, players and CNN's team of reporters on the ground in South Africa.
