Bloomberg head of new media leaves for Technicolor

SINGAPORE - Bloomberg Television Asia-Pacific's head of network distribution and new media, Jimmy Kim (pictured), is leaving to join Thomson's Technicolor as managing director of Asia-Pacific.

Bloomberg head of new media leaves for Technicolor
The move is effective January 2009. Kim joined Bloomberg in March 2007 to replace James Ross, who left in mid-2006 to head Granada International's regional operations. Kim was charged with new media initiatives for the business and financial news channel and had overseen the launch of a mobile news service, Bloomberg Extra, across the region.

Prior to Bloomberg, Kim was regional director for network distribution and channel strategy at CNBC Asia-Pacific where he managed business development and regional partnerships, as well as new media and ad sales activities.

In a circular, he noted that Bloomberg would be looking to hire more people to expand its TV and new media business across Asia-Pacific.
