Bilcom launches digital PR arm

TOKYO - Japanese public relations agency Bilcom has launched an online service, WebPR, to provide consultation, strategy and execution for web campaigns.

Bilcom launches digital PR arm
The service identifies key news sites and provides ‘a better mouse trap’ when promoting digital campaigns as opposed to traditional ones. The service mainly targets consumer goods companies.

Asking whether this is simply a service that sends out mass press releases, Ryota Sugawara, manager of the global team for WebPR said, “the difference is everyone else’s web campaigns are done like ‘dropping leaflets from a plane in a wind storm’. We are targeting our letters.”

Although the client list cannot be disclosed, WebPR has just begun a Christmas campaign called ‘Love Distance’ for an unidentified brand. To increase viewers engagement, the interactive website will reveal what it is all about on Christmas Eve.

Bilcom has utilised the service for Uniqlo’s Uniqlock campaign as the beta run for WebPR.
