Bacon replaces Simons as regional creative head at Draft

SINGAPORE - DraftFCB has promoted former group creative director for South Africa, Ashley Bacon, to the position of regional creative director for Asia Pacific and Africa, following the appointment of Michael Simons (pictured) as chief creative officer of the agency's New York office.

DraftFCB South Africa group chief executive Neil van der Weele will relocate to Asia as regional president of digital and transformation from the new year.

While Bacon will remain based in Africa, van der Weele will move to Singapore where he will develop the agency’s digital capabilities across the Asia Pacific region.

Prior to his transfer to New York, Simons held the dual role of regional Asia Pacific creative director and executive creative director and managing director of DraftFCB Sydney.
