SINGAPORE - BBDO/Proximity has been named Creative Agency of the Year.

The award, presented by Media at a ceremony in Singapore last night, recognised its achievement in forging a cohesive network of agencies. The agency’s highlights include scooping the regional Guinness account.

Media Agency of the Year went to OMD Asia-Pacific, which posted new business growth of 34 per cent and a client retention rate of 98 per cent, winning a clutch of awards in the process.

Network of the Year went to Ogilvy & Mather, which was awarded six other wins and runners-up in this year’s awards. Digital Agency of the Year was awarded to OgilvyOne and Specialist Agency of the Year to McCann Healthcare Worldwide. Independent Agency of the Year went to BBH Asia.

Brand of the Year was awarded to HSBC, which held its own amidst a disintegrating financial world. Client Marketer of the Year went to Li Ning.

Agency Head of the Year (Regional) went to Miles Young of Ogilvy & Mather Asia-Pacific, while the award for National Head went to Marty O’Halloran of DDB Australia and New Zealand.

Creative of the Year was awarded jointly to Andy Blood of TBWA New Zealand and John Merrifield of TBWA/Asia-Pacific.
