Aegis Media nears Heartland buyout

SHANGHAI - Aegis Media is believed to be nearing completion of a major deal with Heartland Media, one of China's leading out-of-home specialist media agencies.

Aegis Media nears Heartland buyout
It is thought that Aegis will acquire a majority stake in Heartland, which was founded by chief executive officer Jay Lin in 2001.

Heartland has held talks with several international holding companies regarding a possible sale, notably WPP.

The company’s client roster includes the likes of Coca-Cola, Nokia and McDonald’s among others.
In addition, three accounts - adidas, BMW and Pernod Ricard - recently shifted from Aegis outdoor operation Posterscope earlier this year (Media, 19 September).

Since then, it is thought that at least two more accounts have moved from Posterscope to Heartland.

Aegis Media Asia-Pacific chief executive officer Patrick Stahle was unavailable for comment at press time.
Heartland currently has six offices across the mainland China market.
