Aegis buys Heartland in China

SHANGHAI - Aegis has confirmed the acquisition of a majority stake in the Chinese outdoor media company Heartland Media.

The Shanghai-based firm will join Aegis Media's out-of-home network Posterscope and offers planning and buying, creative, production and implementation services.

Heartland has a mixture of direct client appointments from Nokia, Coca-Cola and Hitachi and business from international agencies. Founded in 2000, the company has a network of eight offices. Founder Jay Lin will remain as CEO.

Aegis CEO Robert Lerwill (pictured), said: "Posterscope is the leader in out-of-home worldwide, and this acquisition extends that lead at exactly the right time, in the right place."

He added: 'Out-of-home in China is one of the sweetest spots in our industry - this is an exciting acquisition, with immense potential for growth ahead, and we have high expectations for its future success."
