Visa appoints new Asia-Pacific head of marketing

ASIA-PACIFIC - Visa has appointed Coca-Cola's David Fielding as its new head of Asia-Pacific country marketing, replacing Dee Dutta who left the company suddenly in September last year.

Fielding was previously GM for the Coca-Cola company (Greater Atlanta Area). Other roles also include executive vice-president and chief marketing officer of Coke Japan. He has worked for the soft drinks giant for 23 years. 

Rajiv Kapoor, the company’s head of products and marketing for Central Europe, Middle East and Africa, added the APAC regional responsibilities to his remit after Dutta's departure last year. Dutta was formerly Sony Ericsson mobile communications vice-president and head of marketing,

Following a high profile pitch process in 2008, Visa dropped its incumbent agency BBDO and appointed Omnicom Media Group's TBWA to its US$600 million global creative business. 

OMD is the brand's media agency.
