Arkr Digital stood out in Adidas China's Sports Performance pitch that was called in October 2017. It will provide digital creative and social content management services throughout the year for Adidas women, training, running, football, basketball, outdoor and children's products, taking over incumbent BBDO Proximity. 

Former TBWA Hong Kong executive creative director Esther Wong launched a creative content agency Many Many More with three other partners—Kwai Bun, Bonnie Leung and Joseph Wong. The agency serves both Hong Kong and China.

McCann Worldgroup appointed Joyce Ling as chief strategy officer for China. She joins from SapientRazorfish, where she was vice president of strategy in China. She has more than 18 years of branding and communication expertise and has worked with brands including Tory Burch, Michael Kors LVMH, Unilever, Nike, Heineken and Nestlé. 

Singapore-based independent branding network Bonsey Design appointed Graham Hitchmough, most recently CEO for Brand Union in Asia Pacific, as regional chief operations officer. Hitchmough has been in Asia Pacific for over 12 years and in Singapore for the last decade. 

Ogilvy Beijing was appointed to provide public relations services for the city of Xi’an. The agency will provide branding and integrated market planning for the city as it promotes its image in China and around the world as a “global city and cultural capital.” Xi’an sits at the forefront of China’s massive Belt and Road Initiative and the agency will target a wide range of markets including North America, Western Europe, Southeast Asia, Central Asia and Africa.

Kantar appointed Anitha Ramakrishnan as regional HR director for its Insights Division, which contains Kantar Millward Brown and Kantar TNS. Her role covers North Asia, Southeast Asia and Pacific. She joins from Hewlett Packard Enterprise where she led global talent, leadership development and performance management for the software business. Based in Singapore, she takes over from Narelle Burke, who has been promoted to global head of learning and leadership for Kantar.

Blue 449 appointed Lucie Wombwell as head of investment, repalcing Daniel Cutrone who left the company to lead media operations at Avenue C. Previously, Wombwell spent over six years at MEC/Wavemaker, rising to the position of Sydney trading director.

Jet8 appointed John Galang as director of growth and development for the Philippines. He has spent seven years at Yahoo! in both the US and Philippines, and has also worked for Komli Networks and AdParlor.

Reuters has named Sue-Lin Wong as the head of its new Shenzhen bureau to be opened later this month. Originally from Sydney, Wong joined Reuters in 2014 and has been based in Beijing since late 2015 covering economics and general news.  She will now be Reuters' new South China correspondent.

Colenso BBDO has named Edwin Rozells head of transformation to develop new capabilities in customer experience, data and technology.  Rozells joins from Accenture Singapore where he led its digital strategy and marketing practice across ASEAN since 2014. Prior to that, he spent five years at OgilvyOne Singapore as digital strategy lead.

Turner Asia Pacific has appointed Jia Salindong-Du as country manager, Philippines, tasked with scaling Turner’s Kids and Entertainment business, including developing local content opportunities and expanding the fanbase. Salindong-Du has a decade of FMCG experience including working on the beauty and haircare products portfolio at Procter & Gamble.

BBC Studios appointed Geo Lee as senior vice president and general manager for Northeast Asia, based in Seoul. He will oversee the business in South Korea and Japan, reporting to David Weiland, executive vice president for Asia. Lee joins from Amazon Japan, where he headed the TVOD division. He has also worked at Hulu, Twentieth Century Fox and Tsutaya.

Yakult signed Joseph Schooling, Singapore’s first-ever Olympic gold medallist, as brand ambassador in a deal arranged and managed by Dentsu Sports Asia. The partnership extends until 2020. The swimmer, who commented that he grew up drinking the probiotic product, will be featured in a campaign across TV, print and social media.

WPP AUNZ launched a stakeholder and community-engagement practice, The Bond & Associates, and appointed Gail Morgan, formerly Newgate Australia adviser, as national director. Tapping into the group’s 5,500 employees, the practice offers expertise in research, data, policy, communication, engagement, government-sector communications, and digital and social media for clients in Australia and New Zealand. 

Samsonite Singapore appointed DDB Group Singapore as its creative agency. The appointment follows two rounds of closed-door competitive pitches against three other agencies, according to DDB. It covers Singapore and Malaysia, and DDB will handle through-the-line, social and activation duties.

Adobe appointed Emma Mourad as its head of customer success in Singapore. 

Digitas Hong Kong hired Sandra Gin to head up its client services team. She joins from Proximity BBDO in Toronto, where for the last five years she was responsible for Rogers Communications, Canada’s largest telco. She will report to David Paysant, MD of Digitas Hong Kong.

Sale International promoted Usman Saeed to head of business intelligence.

BBDO Singapore retained the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Council account after a competitive pitch. BBDO has been AOR since 2016 and will now continue to drive creative and strategic direction for the next two years.

The Singapore Media Awards (SMA) appointed Wavemaker Singapore and Convertium as the creative partner and digital agency for SMA 2018, respectively.
