Omnicom Media Group (OMG) has announced that Torie Henderson will step down as CEO of OMG Southeast Asia and India, effective immediately.

Henderson has been in her current role since early 2017 and with the company in various roles for 13 years. She has also served as chairperson of Campaign Asia-Pacific's MediaWorks for many years, making a lasting impact on young industry achievers.

The company said the role would not be refilled, as the local-market CEOs will take on full leadership.

“One of the tasks that Torie was given when she took on the role of CEO for Southeast Asia and India in 2017, was to groom our agencies’ leadership across markets," Tony Harradine, CEO of Omnicom Media Group APAC, said in a media release. "Thanks to her passion and commitment to nurturing her team, we now have a strength in the form of local-market leadership who are more than capable of standing on their own feet and guiding our agencies towards further growth and success.”

Starting on the OMD regional team in Hong Kong in 2006, Henderson has played a significant role in the growth of OMG and its people, the company said, crediting her with establishing the group’s diversity and inclusion agenda, shaping local businesses and client relationships, and nurturing an exceptionally strong leadership team in Southeast Asia and India.

“When I joined OMD back in 2006, the formative years were one of the highlights of my career," Henderson said. "The chemistry and energy of our team, as well as our ‘sleeves rolled-up’ and very hands-on approach is what allowed us to develop stronger client relationships and position the agency to win. But the most significant highlight has been watching so many gifted people grow; I am grateful that I have had the chance to play a role in helping contribute to so many growth journeys.

“I’ve been working in this industry for three decades, and have seen massive change in the business and the landscape, which has brought a multitude of fascinating challenges and developments with it. Helping shape some of our most important relationships and develop people has been the part that I loved the most about this job, and they will be what I miss the most.”
