Australian event management and strategic planning agency, Nectar Creative Communications, has recently opened a new division, Nectar’s Own Events, and expanded operations to New Zealand.

Nectar’s managing director, Peta Moore (pictured) says: “We’ve decided to put our money where our mouths are and produce quality, outcome-focused conferences of our own across Australia and New Zealand.

“Having produced hundreds of engaging conferences and events for our clients, producing our own was the next logical step.”

Moore adds: “Our vision is to bring relevant government, business and industry participants together to explore and challenge current issues and to share new ideas. We aim to create events that are designed to engage and inspire across a number of industry sectors.”

To kick-start this initiative,  the agency is partnering with a consultant, ‎Marketing And Conference Events Solutions, to produce the inaugural Urbanism New Zealand Conference.

Wellington City Council and the Urban Design Forum in Wellington will host the conference in May.

Gerald Blunt, Build Wellington design manager at Wellington City Council says: “The outcome of the conference is to send a message to central government about the importance of urbanism... this is something that has not been sufficiently debated by the sector together.”

Moore adds: “No more ‘talk fests’, we want to partner with organisations that have the industry contacts to drive change however they need someone to bring it all to life, that’s where we come in.”
