McCann won the two-year contract which commenced on 1 July after a tendering process which involved at least five 4A agencies in Q1.

Abracadabra was the incumbent agency since 2008.

Ngong Ping 360 is a 100 per cent subsidiary company of MTR. This account win has further solidified McCann's portfolio, which includes MTR's luxury property developments ELEMENTS shopping mall and LOHAS Park land development.

In addition, the MTR Line 4 in Beijing and Shenzhen, which are both under the management of HK MTRCL, have also appointed the McCann Erickson Guangming Beijing and Guangzhou offices, respectively, to handle its advertising this year.

Spencer Wong, national chief creative officer of McCann Erickson China, said the agency wants to grow together with the MTR development.

Wilson Shao, head of commercial and business development, said that he hopes to utilise McCann's strength to help Ngong Ping 360 become one of the landmark tourist attractions in Hong Kong.

Both ATL and online media are handled by Mindshare. Ngong Ping 360 also appointed JCDecaux Transport as its outdoor advertising company as reported in March.
